Little Green Monsters!

Little Green Monsters!

May 18, 2022

So we have some little green monsters in our backyard! These slimy little creatures have multiplied too! Last year, there was only one! But they are taking over!

Last year we started hearing a "barking" sound by the pool. It was a sound that we hadn't heard in the backyard before. After many evenings of the sound, we finally figured out that it was a frog. We didn't see it, but we figured it out with research and YouTube.

But this year, there are three. They serenade us from the backyard until wee hours of the morning! Actually, sometimes I wake up to do devotionals and its like they are wanting to provide the worship music.

When one gets going, they all three start going. It's nuts! I'm surprised the neighbors haven't called the cops on my wild parties I throw every night!

Anyway, last night, when I should have been going to bed, I grabbed my super bright flashlight and went tree frog hunting. I was expecting to find this humongous frog. Instead, I found this little creature a few inches long! How the heck does so much sound come out of such a small animal?

Here's a close-up!

The picture doesn't actually show how small the monster is! I decided to zoom out to show unbelievers a different perspective! Check out this pic!

So, if you aren't familiar with the American Tree Frog, Wikipedia will fix you right up! The one good thing is that these monsters are insectivores. I'm all for less insects in my backyard!

But I can't leave you without understanding a little bit of the beautiful music I hear every night! Listen to the frogs below, but turn up the sound, let it loop for about a minute at a time and have it going on three devices at once. You'll understand my life right now. The true sound starts at the :21 mark.

Peace, Todd
