I am Catalin Toma, a software developer from Romania who loves to find ways to automate things, especially around investing since that is a passion of mine.
I've become involved with investing in 2018. Started with Dividend Growth Investing (DGI), then got "lost" so to speak by trying a high-yield strategy involving Closed-end funds and options. After some thinking, I returned to DGI and I don't see any way why this would change in the future.
I learned pretty fast that it is hard to beat the double compounding effect of DGI (actually the 3rd one is organic dividend growth comes from earnings growth which will always drive price growth). The only disadvantage (or advantage?) is that you need have 20/20 vision in to your future because with DGI you must play the long-term game.
Late in 2021 I built a stock screener to help me find quality DGI companies. It also helps with valuing them (hence the name Qualuation = Quality + Valuation). Modesty aside, I haven't seen any stock screener better then this for DGI.
I am a member of multiple DGI communities but I am pretty disappointed with the low level of communication, as most discussions are geared towards trader mentality or high yield traps.
This is the reason why I am trying to start my own DGI community where I want to find like-minded individuals who want to learn/share how to invest properly with a long-term mentality. DGI is not hard, but you need some common sense guidelines.
