How long have you been playing D&D and how did you get into it / get started?

About 2 years. It came about because all my worlds converged, and randomly a bunch of friends and family all came together to get into it. Loved games like Original Divinity 2, and the RP aspect, and the progression to playing IRL was too good to miss.

Tell us about your favourite PC you’ve played and what made it so great.

One of my faves was “A barb named Sue”, I took the Johnny Cash song “A boy named Sue” and turned it into a PC! He was small and feisty, and kept a necklace of toes from foes he defeated.

If you DM, what’s your best tip for future DM’s out there? (Or equivalent for a player)

I’ve only DM’d for my kids aged 5 and 7. DM’ing for kids is wild! I let them have fun through nurturing their imaginations, it’s made that time together 10x better than if i dictated every step of the process.

What’s one epic moment you can recall from one of your games?

I loved escaping a particularly difficult (non combat) puzzle. My Paladin gave up his connection to his deity (his hammer) in a puzzle of who could sacrifice the most/ most important thing. It was a time I really felt connected to the story, and saw the situation through the PC’s thought process really well. The DM ran with it and made it really special in the next few scenes by having another deity step in to invite him to be a champion of his and creating a new hammer for him directly from the surrounding pile of gold and jewels. The RP was 1000x better than rolling any nat20 to hit!
