Hey Rainbow Warriors! I have a story that fits into both categories in the title. But thankfully it also had a happy ending.
Orlando, Florida in 1981, an 8 year old tom boy was kidnapped from a shopping mall. She was lured to a vehicle by a man, once the man contained the little girl in the car. He drove to another area across from a Lionel Playland, which appears to be a toy store with a kangaroo logo. The man put a knife to the little girl's throat and sexually assaulted her. The little girl remembers staring at the kangaroo logo as she was being sexually assaulted. When the man was done, he returned to the drivers seat of his car and left the half naked little girl in the back seat. He began driving again, but had to slam on the brakes when another car ran a stop sign. As the man slammed on his brakes, the 8 year old girl, jumped from the car, out to the street and ran until she found help.
The little girl's name is Gina Garcia. She belongs to the one percent of abducted children that are returned to their families. Gina is an adult woman now. A lesbian, woot woot. She is an entrepreneur and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, she used their resources to find she suffered from PTSD as a result of her attack.
Gina believes the man who kidnapped and assaulted her was the same man who kidnapped Adam Walsh from a shopping center in Florida. Adam's dad, John Walsh of "America's Most Wanted" fame believes the same. The kidnapper is speculated to be Otis Toole.
