Still Going...

Still Going...

Sep 21, 2022

Hi there,

I have been away from this page, but I have been busy nonetheless, getting ready this week to fully transition away from caregiving (my 'day job') to whatever this is that I think I am doing, lol.

Seriously though, I have been going through a lot of transformation, and working though creative blocks. I'm still trying to figure out what feels right and natural, and most importantly, manageable. I am also still in experimenting mode, trying out new things, such as this platform vs. Patreon, (or wondering if this is even the business model type page that would work best for what I am trying to do), Instagram vs. Facebook, and now I even started a YouTube channel, which, if you would like to check out, is Rainmaker's Journey, and on it I talk about my experiences that relate to my mental health journey, as well as how I have and continue to heal myself. I also plan on using the Community section to post images of my artwork and talk about my art, my Storyworlds. If you have been to my Facebook page that is linked on my homepage here, I have not been active there because honestly, the business page tools were already complicated, and then when FB went Meta, it just got so much more complicated and confusing, so I unfortunately am just not able to deal with that stress right now, but have been posting madly on my personal page all things I am passionate about, and sort of letting my content intent hijack my personal page.

I think with experimenting with platforms and various methods of putting out content, and figuring out how I want the messages I am trying to get across to be presented, I may have overwhelmed myself and spread myself thin, although I am enjoying the learning process. I want to figure out soon how I want my platforms consolidated and adjust to a new schedule of activity that will support me doing this work without stressing myself out and overdoing it.

As far as not overdoing it, though, I will have to tread carefully, because there is another thing I am starting to work on, as well, which is a 3-in-1 non-profit. I am still working out details, and in the beginning, I am forming it locally to where I am, but in time I hope to expand it nationally. Not to leave a cliff-hanger, but I'm not quite ready to talk about it much online just yet, just enough for a teaser ;)

Thank you so much for sticking around as I figure myself out! At least I am consistent with the themes of my content!

The below video is my first little intro vid on Rainmaker's Journey, my personal page, and I just this evening finished uploading a much longer video, behind it, talking about my Bipolar diagnosis as a kid, and some things about my family dynamic.

Coming up, I will be doing another video talking about the events in the mini-comic, "Don't Break Chairs", and I do not know exactly when I will have Scene 9 out, but it will come eventually.

I have recently been incredibly inspired to paint with acrylics, something I have not done since I was a pre-teen! I want to paint this huge painting-I got a 36" x 36" canvas- a scene from Shallust'Var, my water planet! I'm working on some thumbnails right now, and did an outline sketch on a mini-canvas, a 3" x 9", of another Shallust'Var scene, as a warm-up exercise. I am SO EXCITED!!!

Make sure you are following me on Instragram, because I seem to be posting (when I post) there the most. It's been my first go-to, if I have a quick update or something to share, or an announcement. I am working on overcoming the challenge of the executive function called, "Self Start", or "Task Initiation", which can especially make posting on this platform (or any platform) hard. So far, Instagram has been the easiest and most easily accessible to me for quick posts, and feels less intimidating at the moment, so if you don't hear from me on here for a while, please go check out my Instagram. The link is on my main page! :)

That being said, I promise to do better with overcoming myself to post more often.

Thank you for being here, your support really means a LOT.

Enjoy this post?
