We are taking a break from cycling!

Oct 13, 2022

No no, not to worry, our world trip by bike is not over yet. We do however wanted a much needed (and deserved?) break from cycling. The road has been our best and most exciting compagnon for the last six months, but physically and mentally we started to feel exhausted!

We follow many die-hard cyclists and a lot of them just keep on going. Some cycle more than 100km per day and have been doing so for over a year, while we have "only" been on the road for half a year and sometimes we only cover 30km per day...

Are we such softies?

Well, it does feel like that sometimes but in the meantime we have learned to be proud of ourselves. Our own bodies (and yes, a boat trip and one flight) brought us where we are now and how many people can say that? We just listen to ourselves and now we are pressing pause for a little while.

We believe all things happen for a reason and we met a lovely Belgian couple, Steven and Bie, in Estes Park (Colorado). The plan was to spend one weekend with them here, but things turned out differently, in a good way. While they are going back to Belgium till the end of the month to attend a wedding and visit friends and family, we will be watching their house AND their lovely dogs Tripel and Athena. It feels good to have a roof over our heads the next weeks and we could not be more excited to go around and do some hiking trips with the dogs in these autumn colours. Read all about it in this post.

Once our batteries are recharged and Steven and Bie return, we will continue our trip southwards to head to Mexico.

We wanted to give a big thanks to all our supporters through this platform of Buy Me a Coffee. We have almost raised enough money to keep our website up and running for the first year, it means the world to us to share our stories and inspire people to get out there!

All the best,

Stefanie and Niels
