I really do welcome people to my home!
As the owner of Holstein House, a small bnb in West Virginia, I have been sharing our guestroom with travelers since 2017. As a traditional home-share bed and breakfast, we invite travelers from across the globe to stay in our home, and enjoy our hospitality. Since that time we have hosted guests from more than seven countries. Many have been artists, musicians, and student filmmakers migrating on tight budgets, or simply wanting the feeling of staying with family during their time in the area.
We are listed on Airbnb as Holstein House, plus we take direct bookings from my website. Two of the larger projects I am working towards are the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charger for guests, and a gazebo to hold weddings and celebrations.
The EV charger is pretty self explanatory. Having the charger installed will allow me to appeal to a wider array of guests. According to EVstationslocal.com there are no charging stations within 15 miles of Holstein House.
The ability to offer small "elopement" type packages will benefit couples, young and old, who do not want a big wedding, don't have a local church pastor, or decide suddenly and cannot find other options, such as a busy holiday period. A gazebo will be built and used to offer weddings. I am licensed to perform weddings in West Virginia. The 10x10 gazebo is the perfect size for a bride, groom, and a couple attendants. Add a small cake, some refreshment, and a keepsake certificate and even an unexpected wedding can be a beautiful memory.
Refurbishing a small building on the property into a meeting space, with wifi, and an area set-up for live stream recording (such as zoom, or google meets). Currently, there is not real meeting space within five miles, and none offering wifi or suitable online meeting space. However, the building needs the works; roof, wiring, and plumbing.
So, why would you want to be a subscribing member? In addition to the rewards attached to each level, you will be helping me create options for my underserved community, AND members will be the first to learn of special discounts, events, or goodies Holstein House will offer. Physical items are only shipped within the United States, but there will be digital items available also.
Special online events are being worked up, like cooking events, virtual tours, and meetings.
