Hello there...

Jun 08, 2021

I’m sorry if I’m too over appreciative, but this whole asking for donations for my work is something totally new. It’s the first step towards becoming a full time creative, and it feels very liberating. So thanks for helping me out.

I look forward to posting regularly and sharing my creative projects and adventure with you.

I am literally craving a visit to Taormina. Let’s hope Sicily turns from an orange zone to a yellow one and then to 100% white so we can go anywhere on the island. This way, I can finally get back there. It’s already been two years.

If not for the current Covid pandemic, Taormina would be hosting an endless stream of tourists. Too many tourists, to be honest. Hordes of them like swarming armies of ants that are offloaded in tourist buses by the hundreds.

To be frank, I love Taormina, but in the humidity of a Sicilian summer, I’d prefer to avoid the crowds. So I either put off a visit until the winter when there are fewer people or seek out secluded places around the city, away from the main street and all tourist traps.

With a little bit of luck, Sicily will be opening up this summer. So I hope to take a drive to one of my favourite places to visit in my hometown province.

I hope we are at least a yellow zone. With the current orange Covid area, we can only go about thirty kilometres away from home unless we are travelling for a good reason. For now, I can’t justify a trip to Taormina.

I’m working on a photography zine. It’s called A Sicilian mosaic and has some of the best photos I’ve taken over the last two decades of living in Sicily. I’m so excited to share it with you.

Hope you have a great week.

Lots of love and light.
