Update

Hey guys, I've been quiet as of late, I know, but not without good reason. I've accepted a position as a SOC Analyst I at a company called BlueVoyant and have had to do some training and now onboarding for the job. It's taken al lot of my time these last few weeks, so the FSP (Free Security+ Project) has been pushed back a little bit. An update on that though, I've finished the entire 'skeleton' of it and am now simply working to flesh out the details and add... more

TryHackMe Web Fundamentals & Burp Suite

I've finished a couple more rooms (and started another) in my trek for 100 days of TryHackMe. With that, I've finished a couple more writeups:Web Fundamentals: https://coderon.in/Web-Fundamentals-e61c9b6f24d244c6824d831fe8acebddBurp Suite: https://coderon.in/Burp-Suite-edc09d5421f7477589cdd6352d3f028b___________In Web Fundamentals, you go over, well, the very fundamental building blocks of the internet. Simple objectives teaching you about request formats and cookies. It's a... more

Work Continues!

How do you do, fellow kids? How's it going? Jamesville is doing pretty alright today! I held a vote in the KrakenSec discord yesterday concerning the release date of the Free Security+ Project (henceforth FSP). Essentially: v.05: An incomplete release, as soon as the first stage is done. Full 'skeleton' with some fully complete sections. A skeleton is an outlined section, meant to be used as a springboard for me to add additional content, details, and resources. Further... more

A New Host!

So, I'm switching platforms. Previously I was writing the Free Security+ Project (the tentative new name for the study guide) on gitbook and was planning on launching it on a team/pro account but have decided to switch to a Notion (https://www.notion.so/) built site. I actually built my personal site on there this morning, with a blog and a TryHackMe write-up (a thing I'm starting today) as a test. I fell in love with the simplicity, so I'm taking it forward with the FSP (Free... more

Progress Continues

Progress is slow but steady on the Security+ SY0-601 Study Guide since receiving enough donations to purchase the instructor's guide book. I'm dedicating approximately 2 hours per day to the study guide, more when I can, which isn't often with needing to put food on the table and pay bills and all. Nonetheless, I'm working diligently and am on track to finish up to Section 5 this week (of 21). The time frame remains roughly the same - Jan 31st through the first week of... more

Absolute LEGENDS, all of you.

This morning I received a huge donation from Will G. that has allowed me to flat out purchase the CompTIA Instructor's Guide Book (https://store.comptia.org/p/SEC-601-IDBK-20-C).What that means for the study guide (https://security.coderon.in)? Well, a lot more material and a lot more defined structure. I'm essentially going to re-structure the entire notebook into the proper domains associated with the test and will be upgrading it from 501 to 601 material (see here:... more
