I am a cinephile/movie buff, and I LOVE Marvel stuff.
So I wasn't surprised when I watched their latest animated series, What If?, and I picked up some thought-worth quotes.
Here are the ones that caught my attention -
I believe that in this universe, as in every other, hope never dies. As long as someone keeps their good eye on the bigger picture. - The Watcher, Episode 3
Hope - that is all one can do and should do. No matter how dire the situation might look. As long as you have your eye on the bigger picture, you'll have the strength to go through any obstacle.
If you erase her death, you never start your journey. - Ancient One, Episode 4
This one hit close to home for me.
If it wasn't for the sudden loss of my cousin, I wouldn't have realised two things.
One, life is short.
Two, you can't sit on the sidelines waiting for things to turn in your favour.
If it wasn't for my cousin, I wouldn't have kicked myself in the butt and get working.
There is a fine line between devotion and delusion. Love can break more than your heart. It can shatter your mind. - O’Bengh, Episode 4
Another reason why you should keep your head straight in love.
Don't be so "madly in love" that you turn mad.
In my culture, death is not the end. They are still with us, as long as we do not forget them. - T’challa, Episode 5
The fact that actor Chadwick Boseman says this dialogue breaks my heart every single time.
But it's true. Our loved ones are always with us. Maybe not physically anymore, but they are there for us in spirit. All we have to do is remember them.
Every journey has a beginning, but change one step along the way, and you could end up at a very different destination. - The Watcher, Episode 6
That is also true. We get multiple opportunities in our lives where we have the chance to take a different step. And that could lead you to a completely different future. Therefore, every action counts and make sure you take the one you feel is right.
I didn’t evolve by staying inside the lines. - The Ultron, Episode 8
Another truth bomb. You can't think of growing if you stay inside the comfort lines. You have to stretch yourself out. Only then can you evolve into a better you.
