The Alluvial Fan is a fan-shaped area of disturbance in Rocky Mountain National Park. It was created on July 15, 1982, when the earthen Lawn Lake Dam above the area gave way, flooding the Park and nearby town of Estes Park with more than 200 million gallons of water. The appearance of the falls changed again in 2013 during the Colorado floods. I personally thought it looks prettier before the 2013 flood. I took the image of the bighorn sheep, used as the thumbnail for this video, prior to the 2013 floods. Here's an NPS video on the Lawn Lake Dam Failure, in case you'd like to learn more. https://youtu.be/bWhxybDHRnY
