Quartzsite, AZ, had a population of 2,413, residents according to the 2020 Census, but during the winter months, when the snowbirds roll south, this tiny town can find itself being the host to as many as two million visitors (based on past numbers). Nomads, travelers, vagabonds, rubber tramps, adventurers, and snowbirds from all walks of life gather here to escape the bitter and unpredictable weather elsewhere in the US, and the desert landscape turns into a sea of shiny RVs and trailers valued from a half-million dollars to the most humble of vans, cars, and even tents. Admid this medley of people the modern-day nomads have formed tribes, and have several gatherings from November through March, but the main gatherings happen during the month of January. They gather to visit friends, share info and tips, play music, make new friends, help each other and for some, hopefully, meet that special someone.
