Schalk has a core belief in the opportunities the internet offers in empowering people and communities when you combine the reach of the open web with skills in engineering, design, and compassion for others.
Schalk tries to be involved in as many initiatives as feasibly possible. The end goal is to create a community of curious people who share knowledge and experience to empower others to create their own opportunities using the open web, open-source, and their own creativity.
