I am a professional photographer, filmmaker, author and lecturer who specializes in nature. I've been involved with photography for nearly 50 years and my work has appeared in more than 200 publications.

I was one of the first photographers ever to receive the designation Apple Certified Professional Trainer (T3) for Apple’s Aperture. I also previously held the designation Certified Adobe Photoshop Instructor and Professional Photographers of America’s Certified Professional Photographer designation.

I hold the title Master Photographer from the Washington Professional Photographers Association and was awarded the designation Signed Master with the Studio Of Masters in China. I have also been accredited by The Societies of Photographers as an Associate of The Society of International Nature & Wildlife Photographers. (ASINWP) 

I founded one of the first dedicated, Internet photography sites - Photofocus.com, co-founded the first photography related podcast, This Week In Photography (TWIP), co-founded Photography Podcast Network (PPN) and the PictureMethods podcast.

I have written or co-written the following books:
