Just me rambling on a bench along a hiking trail about the importance of taking your gear out and using it.
On a recent hike I took out some radio gear I had in my pack to practice using Winlink with an H/T. The hike itself was an enjoyable way for me to work on my physical and mental health. The break on the bench was an enjoyable way for me to work on my radio skills.
During this little break I thought I was make the point again that we all need to focus more on getting the most out of the gear we buy. So many of us are quick to ditch our current gear for the latest and greatest; yet don't get the most out of our old gear, let alone the updated shiny new gear.
Or worse yet, we just buy it and set it aside for "when we need it."
Take it out. Take it out as often as you can and use it. Build your skills and get the most out of what you have.
