Dear friends, we continue our list of adnouns (adjectival nouns or substantivized adjectives). This time I offer you a collection of masculine adnouns.
REMEMBER: adnouns are declined in the same way as adjectives
In other respects they ‘behave’ like ordinary nouns, i.e.
(1) they can collocate with 'normal' adjectives (подсобный рабочий, выдающийся учёный, новый заведующий, последний выходной, центральный нападающий, etc),
(2) they are declinable (с любимым, к обвиняемому, о пострадавшем, рядом с Грозным, штурм Зимнего, концерт в Олимпийском, etc) and
(3) many of them can make plural forms (русские, учащиеся, рабочие, скамейка запасных, суд присяжных, убитыми и ранеными, etc).
