AVCS4 Ready or Not v0.91 Beta Profile Released

Jan 21, 2022

Public Beta v0.91

The first voice control I ever experienced in a game was for Playstation 2 and the SOCOM games with included headset microphone - you could issue voice commands to your computer controlled teammates such as "Breach, Bang, and Clear" and they would stack up and blast their way through a door, tossing a flashbang in before clearing it of enemies, among many other types of commands.

This past xmas, I got the game 'Ready or Not' from the guy who first got me into programming & sat me down to explain common operations and symbols before unleashing me to tutorials online and learning projects to continue on my own.

This project for me was an homage to that time way back, when I thought that voice control in video games was so immersive it was bound to become as regular of a feature as gamepad controller support. Of course, it didn't catch on as much as online gameplay which has come to dominate the mainstream, but thankfully it's easier than ever to create our own voice control systems for any game lacking them through VoiceAttack.

I've even included the old phrase, "Breach, Bang, and Clear", as an optional phrasing for the action to place C2 Breaching Charge, deploy Flashbang, and clear a room - brings back a lot of memories from SOCOM.

Details:
This is an open public Beta Test profile for VoiceAttack v1.8.9 or higher. The Ready or Not game itself is also in Beta, so this profile may develop over time. The purpose and focus of this profile is only on the Single Player SWAT menus voice controls.

These commands use VoiceAttack to translate the in-game on-screen SWAT menus from Moving through Breaching into natural and intelligent voice command phrases that will fire keypress macros to help maintain immersion in single player Ready or Not gameplay.

Features include an automated game key bindings loader during profile initialization which reads the game config file to get the keys to press for in-game actions, in case the user has changed any of them from defaults, and a voice command to reload key bindings for use after changing any settings in-game while this VoiceAttack profile is already loaded.
