Hi friends! My name is Lisa and I am the owner and curator of Darkside of the Closet; a dark aesthetic style resale shop. Although I have been reselling off and on for 20 years, it wasn't until I lost my job during the pandemic that I started doing this full-time. I found that I have a passion for it and enjoy helping people find clothes that make them happy and more confident.
What is "dark aesthetic"?
Back in the day, I would have called it Goth but that term has been so widely transformed with the sub-categories that I would say it is....for those of us who have a dark side. Goth, Grunge, Alternative, Metalhead and all the in-between. Most of my inventory is shades of black. There is a lot of what I consider "corporate goth" or office attire styles as well as rock-tees, accessories, and original design pieces.
As an artist I have found inspiration in altering clothing and a new appreciation for minimalism, ironically.
My goal is to open a physical shop. It's a far off goal, but one nonetheless! As a divorced, single, mother of a special needs child certain self-sacrifices get made for my child, as they should. This is why I want to continue being my own boss, to better care for my son. But momma needs self-care too at times.
I appreciate my customers and supporters! Every order is a treat for me. I do my best to give the best and safest shopping experience I can. I have a YouTube channel just starting out, I do live sales on Instagram, and sell on Poshmark as well.
