A very special project: IIGL

Since over 20 years I am in contact with Michael and observed the powerful work he did, also when he founded the Mountain Light Sanctuary many years ago.
Michael was here in Thailand when we organized some energy shifting events in 2001 and without having any requests, he came, paid his own air ticket and helped to promote the event so more people came for the peace pole ceremony and conference. I didn't have a digital camera then, so I don't have pictures to attach. I do have some paper photos, but I am not sure in which box they are hidden.... )-:

I got this email today from Michael and I want to use my way of spreading the information through my blog and hope that it also touches you, like his work touched me for many years.
I am deeply grateful for what he has done and still doing and wish that in this way I can reach some people who are able to help to keep the project going!

Namaste, Katharina

Hi,

I am sharing the following with you because of your request to be on our PTP mailing list.  It is one of the Level Three assignments in the International Institute For Global Leadership Studies. It was written by Francis Mandu, a young man from Kenya, from one of the largest slums in Africa.  He is recently graduated from high school with our assistance with tuition.  This is his testimony of how his life has change due to his IIGL studies, which is one of the projects we sponsor with your donation to the Planetary Transformation Project. If you are not already a donor, I hope reading this will inspire you to become a monthly contributor.  It isn't only the amount you give but the energy and commitment to light a candle for a positive future at this challenging time on the planet.

What I Have Learned & How I Have Changed With Your Help

Francis Mandu (Kenya)

I started the IIGL studies while in High school. Finishing level one and two studies has been very educative, informative and more so fun to study, it has been like unleashing my potential in an earlier age, besides high school studies, I have gained skills for survival, I have learnt on how to use my brain effectively and become a more better person in the society. I am becoming more vibrant, conscious in every aspect of my life, and this has helped me to assist other youths in the society, many a times I have been given chances to speak with youths in positive behavior change, and how to gain more in the society by being focus and also be good ambassador in advocating a drug free society in youths.

IIGL taught me the importance of flexibility in life that is why I changed my attitude, especially coming from  a slum it needs patience, courage and be resilience in order to overcome the odds, this is a place whereby you need skills for survival, it’s a den of all evil things, drug abuse is the order of the day, crime is not a big deal, dropping from school it is normal, but after getting the right people and mentor from IIGL, I changed my perspective and decided to be a better person, it is not a walk in the park to complete High school or primary level education in the slum, there are a lot of distractions, young girls below 15 years they are impregnated and also young boys as earlier as 13 years already are in criminal activities.

Through IIGL, it made me gain focus and understand that I am the master of my life,  nobody will make my life better than myself, on my free time I decided that I will be reading IIGL books which have made me see things in a different way, like the introductory books “Jonathan Seagull and As a man thinketh”, it gave me the potential to change how I see things where there is impossibility I saw possibility, many people in the society they were sure that I will never finish my high school studies but through determination and courage like the seagull, determined to fly higher and higher, gain new experience at last it happened and to me it also happened that indeed, prayer, determination having positive people who stand with us during atrocities and challenges makes us achieve our life time dreams, goals and aspirations.

My choice of words, communication pattern and level of interaction have greatly improved with what I have learnt especially, non-violent communication, where I reside in the slum it is highly populated and in such place we expect, differences in a daily life, which leads to fighting and even killing one another, through nonviolent communication I have had peace in the society solve difficult conversation and made it easy to everyone in the society, I have been at peace with my fellow youths, my leaders and in school with my classmates and teachers, I have become a likable character in the society IIGL studies humbled you to become a normal human being in the society, you become a mirror of the society.

I learned never to judge people. I did not only learn the saying that “never judge people”  but practically coming from a humble and poor family my mother could not be able to provide for my school fees/tuitions,   I never judged her for not being able to give us basic amenities, like food, shelter, education, I knew she is trying but it was difficult her  trying all the best to meet our daily needs, it wasn’t easy, but through that patience, hope resilience and not giving up, my desire to complete high school came to pass, it is very true that when you are ready God will send an Angel to walk with you through the den of lions, through a well-wisher and good hearted person he made me achieve my dreams of completing my education, today I am able to think critically, communicate in a more sensible manner and my life is taking shape through IIGL studies.

IIGL has instilled in me confidence, commitment, enthusiasm and vision that helped me to awaken the power within me, today I am confidence in the middle of the slum, I speak fluently I am organized and even people wonder if indeed I have lived in the slum, my mind set is not in the slum formation but it is circumstances that makes us where we are however it is just a matter of time to be ware you want to be, never lose focus and never give up, we are what we are because of what we want to be, nobody decides for you who you will be but it’s our own decision.

I do say that we have been presented to the world like a plain books that has not been written or like a plain writing pad, whereby you write what you want to be, we decide what we want to be the world gives us opportunities, to do what we want, when you are given a plain book you will write what you want to write only positive vibes what makes you happy and how you make it work, so even in life if we concentrate on what makes us happy we choose our priorities in the right order we will receive what we want, even in the bible it is stated that ask and it shall be given to our, knock and the door will be opened for you, so it matters a lot on what we want in our lives.

I have seen so many people in the slum who have worked hard and smatter to upgrade their lives, doing all sorts of work and growing gradually until they reach where they wanted to be in life, today they are multi-millionaires in the society dinning with queens and kings, having what they want at their own wish and becoming motivational speakers in the society, and encouraging people that it doesn’t matter where you are currently but it matters where you want to be and what you are doing to be there.

I learned to overcome the fear within and turn the invisible into visible. So many people are not living their dreams because they are living with fear, I know life will always try to make things difficult for me, especially in my case where even having a one day meal was an issue, but after joining IIGL I knew that fear will not build me but break my strength , I started facing my fears boldly and through that I found out that there was nothing to fear in the first place, fear of dropping from school not completing my studies, fear that we will be chased out of our house due to house rent, but I found out that the more I feared nothing worked out, fear will never solve our problems, as the saying goes what doesn’t kill you, strengthens you, through al I have undergone I speak boldly and even people do say that I am changed and very much brave and determined.

To the founder and deans of studies/students I like to echo for giving us this platform to transform our lives positively, this studies is a life changer it is a manual for a better life and a better society it speaks to our brains directly, to our health our soul and it is indeed a wonderful and noble course to take, through this studies it has made me a totally different person in terms of reason , in terms of our I see things and in terms of interaction, also it has given me knew friends whom we think critically and more so in a positive life transformation, knowledge shared is power shared, or this institution sharing the books, knowledge, time and mentorship is transformation of the universe, I understand we have young leaders who are doing better in the society making it a good place, one person can change a community, it is like when we plant a seed it sprouts to so many fruits that can feed a community, it is the same with IIGL, the impact of IIGL is felt in different countries, that I know one day one time the world will come together through IIGL to have positive solutions to have a better world, a world for all nation.

I have also learnt that respect and being thankful for everything is a virtue that should be uphold in the society, through respect you are respected back, people will see who you reciprocate before they reciprocate back, what goes round comes round, we need to embrace IIGL, for it is all the society needs for a better world. It cuts across all professionals without discrimination, we are all equal in IIGL, and that is why even the set-up is standard that even my old grandmother can understand the language without biasness. Long live IIGL and I look forward to learn more and more.
