We're extremely excited to be on Buy Me A Coffee and are looking forward to getting to know our community better in this downtime! For those who may not know, we are mostly based in Sydney, where we have been in lockdown for the past couple of months. This has led to the postponement of Three Fat Virgins Unassembled presented in conjunction with KXT bAKEHOUSE and a number of our short plays as part of Short + Sweet Sydney. However, we are delighted to continue our work with an online development of a new play, collaborating with theatre-makers all around Australia.
Interactive Play Reading
Are you experiencing theatrical withdrawal and in need of drama? We’re hosting an online interactive play reading. This is a relaxed, informal play-reading event where you can practice your acting chops, read a new play and feel connected, especially to any Aussies who may be stuck at home. It will be held this coming Wednesday, 8 September at 7:15 pm AEST (Sydney time).
We’re opening to our community on Buy Me A Coffee and any actors with Asian heritage. The link will be available on our Buy Me A Coffee page, Asian Actor Club (Facebook Group), and Asian Australian Actors & Theatre-Makers (Facebook Group). No previous acting experience is needed. If you’re unsure about participating in the reading, you are free to listen and decide midway through. We will ensure everyone has a turn to read by creating a ‘tagging in’ process. There is no need to prepare anything for our online event. If you have any accessibility requirements, please email us at: [email protected]
If you have a play suggestion, feel free to let us know. Should it not be used for this event, we may use it for the next! The script will be made available before the event and/or shared via screen share on the day.
