"offering the ideal" by SLUGMORPH. Finished on August 20, 2021.

This is one of my least polished works. I definitely could spend some time rendering it more smoothly and properly, but I didn't, mostly because I lost the drive to do so. Well that doesn't mean I lost hope or got sad or anything— I was initially drawing this out of emotions. It was overall just a pretty quick doodle painting, and then I no longer felt the emotions that I started this piece with, hence the loss of interest in fully polishing it. I moved on to make other pieces.

I post my art on my Facebook account. usually my pieces get around 10-15 likes. You know my properly rendered pieces? Yeah, those get around 15 likes. Not bad, I appreciate every support that I get. I posted this one too, which is not the most polished piece I have, an definitely not the best in my eyes, yet it got around 27 likes on my Facebook profile! I'm genuinely surprised to get so much more support on this piece than my more polished works. Perhaps it's because this piece, offering the ideal, has a different colour palette? Has a little kiddy-lookin house inside the body? I'll never really know.

I wonder what would be your interpretation of this. Of course, I drew this with certain intent, but I would honestly love to read your thoughts about my art. I used to frequently post poetry on AllPoetry dot com. I love that site because it encourages/requires poets to comment and read other poet's writings before posting. The community in there is very engaging. I posted a poem there once with the intent to make the poem seem sad and regretful. I, however, received a comment saying that he found it quite funny, because Zizek is funny (I mentioned Zizek in my poem. and Zizek really is funny). While I at first was confused, such a comment was thoroughly interesting. It is very genuinely interesting to know what other people think of my works. People are so different from one another and it is why I like to connect with others, since I usually like to silently communicate through my art.

Hope you have a great day.
