Kiwoom Heroes Kim Hye-seong (24) was even recognized for her sportsmanship.
The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) held a rewards and punishment committee on the 23rd of last month and selected Kim Hye-seong as the winner of the 2023 KBO Fair Play Award.
The Fair Play Award is given to a player who has contributed to improving the image of the KBO League by setting an example through a serious attitude to the game based on the spirit of sports and accepting decisions during the KBO regular season. It was enacted in 2001.
Hye-Sung Kim won her first individual Fair Play Award. Kim Hye-seong, who recorded a batting average of 0.335 (186 hits in 556 at-bats) and 7 home runs this season, showed much better batting ability than before and rose to 3rd place in batting average and 2nd place in most hits. However, she showed mannered play on the field and was recognized by her teammates and leaders.
Kiwoom has produced a winner for the second year in a row, following Jiyoung Lee, who won the award last year. The award will be given at the KBO Golden Glove Awards ceremony held on the 11th.
