Even robots need oiling
It's Monday.
Go gently dear leaders.
You may have renewed energy but have your team? Easing in, warming up. What we/you want to call it - is important.
Think of the soreness, the aches and the pains, the joints that just won't 'unglue'.
People and work are the same; they're not robots - and even they need oiling.
And what about you.
A full diary on a Monday - doesn't really cut the mustard. If you used sunday 'properly' as a time to recoup and rest - Mondays are your day to plan, prep and 'get your ducks in a row' - or even better - Friday.
But if you find yourself here; face pressed firmly up against the glass - what do you do?
Adopt the mindset of gentle - if you can be gentle go gently through today - ease off on the activities you do. You might be surprised by the results.
Cancel a meeting that can be delayed or isn't really necessary or send one of your team whom have capacity instead of you. Set a new trend of empowerment. Use this for lunch and/or point 3.
Free up next Monday - use today to free up next Monday and Friday whilst you're at it (Fridays I'll come onto next time).
