If you don't care; why should they?

If you don't care; why should they?

Nov 26, 2022

I just read a 'to the point' article on Linkedin by which I applaud; the art of persuasion hasn't changed in 2000 years.

The third tenet of the piece states that "According to Aristotle, persuasion cannot occur in the absence of emotion. People are moved to action by how a speaker makes them feel" It's a great quote and it reminded me of what I call my:

”why do you give a sh*t?"

And

"why should they give a sh*t?" calling.

And it's followed by a loose decision tree:

  1. If you don't and they don't - don't bother

  2. If you don't and they do - find your reason

  3. If you do and they don't - find their reason

One of my joys in life is to help people work on 2 and 3.

Why?

Because I know what it's like to care passionately and not be heard and I know what it's like to be heard and given the space to deliver the change you seek. It's feck'ing awesome.

One of my favourite bosses used to say, “If you don’t care enough, why should they?”.

Many do care enough; but fear the response.

Many care enough, but don't know how to express it

Many care enough, but have been quashed by the response of the few rather than the love of the many.

You can express this better than me; thats the point of a coach - I help you be your best self. better than I could ever be. I coach; you do - thats the pay off and I help you do it better and with more conviction.

I care enough; do you.

If you do; get in touch at [email protected] today and lets do this.
