Patience...

Patience...

Patience

Patience starts with me.

Before patience starts with you.

If I can’t be patient with me

Then my patience will be short lived with you.

Patience is a lifestyle.

Patience is a verb.

Patience is something that resides.

It’s not something you hold onto.

Patience is not owed.

Patience is given freely.

Patience is felt like love and kindness.

True patience lifts me off my knees.

Patience is honest and laid bare.

Patience is a mirror into which I see.

Patience is being soft and gentle to oneself

So that I can be bold and energetic when I need.

Patience fills me with tenderness,

Patience let’s me relax in a cacophony of noise.

Patience is the word I crave in circles and swirls

It’s the lines that I draw when I’m enthralled.

Patience is my pause for the world.

Some explanation

When we have a voice that nags inside of us, to do more, to be more, to try harder - no matter how much we try to suppress it; it rises to the surface like bubbles.

Bubbles cause ripples and ripples have an effect upon those around us - even if we try hard to soften their fizz they pop and crackle in the hearts and minds of those we love and lead like mini explosions breaking down resilience and sapping energy and spirit.

Patience gives space for humanity to flourish; humanity is good to be around as delivers better results - results that consider others AND tomorrow.

Find a way to be patient with yourself - it’s more important for the health and sanity of others than you think AND you’ll feel better too. Honest.
