Movement for the Reconstruction of Black Identity( UMROBI) and The Cloth will be hosting a webinar in honour of late labour hero, Joe Young on Sunday, 3 October, 2021 5:30pm. In speaking on the aims and objectives of the event, Professor Winston Suite, Chairman of UMROBI indicated that comrade Joe Young was a hero of the working class of Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean, whose contribution to national development must not be lost. He lamented that too many heroic individuals who have sacrificed their blood, sweat and tears on the altar of national development have been forgotten. Suite emphasised that current and future generations must never forget what was done for and on their behalf by selfless individuals such as Joe Young. Robert Young, owner and Creative Director of The Cloth added that the webinar is a modest attempt to document for posterity a chapter of the history of Trinidad and Tobago which must be remembered and included in the syllabi of all students and enthusiasts of history in the region. The event is free and it will be live-streamed to the public.
