Undetectable Oneness

Undetectable Oneness

Nov 19, 2022

Science tells us that planet Earth is spinning around on its axis at great speed. None of us are able to detect this movement however, as we go about our everyday lives, because the movement is all pervading. So there is a quality with which everything around us and within us is imbued, to which our five bodily senses remain 'blind'.

Science similarly tells us that our planet, and everything on it and in it, is rotating around the sun. Yet we do not sense this movement.

Science similarly tells us that our solar system, and all other bodies within the universe, are expanding away from the centre of the universe. Yet we do not sense this oneness that we know to be there.

Science assures us that all these theories have been proved with a little scientific measurement and a chunk of sensible conjecture. If we build on this thinking, with a little more sensible conjecture, it is easy to see how we could generate a goodly number of theories and hypotheses in the same vein.

We could safely conjecture, for example, that if all things in the universe were at the same temperature, then the quality we now know as 'temperature' would be undetectable to our bodily senses.

We could safely conjecture that if all things in the universe were the same colour, then the quality we now know as 'colour' would be undetectable to our bodily senses.

We could also, and quite safely conclude that anything all-pervading and unchanging would necessarily be undetectable to us by ordinary, body-sense means. Such a conclusion would give us great cause to refute the generally held scientific opinion that stuff which is undetectable through the bodily senses (of an all pervading and unchanging nature) is fanciful stuff.
