we live in a 25 years old volkswagen t4 transporter. this blue car has proudly been our home and shelter for two years now and hopefully many more.
bob was a stroke of luck! after months of searching online for vans in all over the country (mainly denmark, but also germany and the netherlands as they are known for cheap vans), bob showed up literally just 10 minutes away from my (signe) parent's house!
as i had rented out my apartment i was staying with my parents until the right van would show up and we would drive to spain to meet ale and wiki. it all happened very fast but i guess when a decision feels right there is not really any reason to wait. from meeting bob the first time (i took my dad as i honestly did not have any clue what to look for when buying an old van from 1997...) only two days past before me and the former owner shook hands! bob was now a part of the family.
i took him to a mechanic before buying him, whose first words about getting a 23 year old van was: dont! but after a check up and a test drive even the mechanic changes his mind: well at least it will be able to take you to spain and back again.... but bob oh bob. he did not only take us to spain and back again. bob has taking us around spain from the east to the west, north to the south without complaining. he is truly a stroke of luck.
bob has carried many different things. from a wooden rooftop to being totally empty to now having a shower, solar panel and roof box on top. he carries our kitchen, our living room, our bedroom, our workshop and most importantly us. he is our shelter our safe place, our security, our home. i never thought i would have so much gratitude for a car.
