As we move through October I am so proud to say there are now 20 companies on board who will be accepting the vouchers. These are spread across the island and will mean that people can treat themselves to a meal out, some nice drinks or even some new clothes.
After such a tough year for so many I truly hope the project will uplift and empower those involved.
There is also another 12 wonderful companies who have agreed to offer free donations of their goods or services. These are also small businesses here that have been affected by the last of tourism and the downturn in the economy, but their kindness means so much to me and I know the families who receive gifts like free beauty treatments, hampers, sweets and gifts will be overwhelmed by the generosity.
I have also had some kind donations of clothes and other items which I have already started to distribute as there is no point saving these items when people need them now.
