Someone wise once said
"A thousand years from now nobody is
going to know that you or I ever lived. The cynic is
right, but lazy. He says ‘You live, you die and nothing you do will ever make a difference.’ But as long as I live, I’m going to be like Beethoven and shake my fist at fate and try to do something for those who live here now and who knows how far into the future that will go. If I accomplish nothing more than making my arm sore, at least I will be satisfied that I have lived."
In my opinion, We should always help others but never expect anything in return. Because if we expect anything in return even praises or recognition then
Altruism loses all its meaning.
it leads to people pretending to be good just for the sake of fame and recognition. They don't care about the long-term impacts of their actions and all they care about is the short-term gains.
Helping others without any rewards is the real meaning of Altruism. I believe that we should help others and just completely forget about it.
My personal favourite quote in this is
"We can't help everyone, it's impossible but we can always help someone, it's not only possible but also very easy"
Just start with one person. that's it.
