In this week's podcast episode I take some time to reflect upon why many style analysts (including myself), constantly keep returning to the fictional character of James Bond as a yardstick of style and culture in the men's sartorial world.
I take some time to offer my own observations on the not-so-secret agent and why I think he has grown to style icon status in the 60-years since he first appeared on the big screen in Dr No!
Let me know your own Bond journey and what you think of the smartest assassin on the planet.

Thanks for an interesting listen Ash. For me Daniel Craig is the "true" Bond. I too have read the books and he for me nailed the ruthless grit and killing machine that defined the character. That being said, regarding the watches, I still associate Bond with Rolex despite even DC wearing Omega. Specifically on the Omega Seamaster 300m I've just (literally Friday last week) picked up my vintage 1996 Seamaster 300m from Mappin and Webb after its service from Omega - and we'll have to agree to disagree that this is a "fashion" watch 😊. I love it (but do agree it's not going to win any competitions against a Sub). All the best and look forward to the next one.

The Living Daylights was the first Bond movie I saw in a cinema and I quite liked Timothy Dalton in his second and last outing. I believe with a few more movies he could have been the best. Pierce Brosnan started out very well but suffered from poor scripts as time went on. Craig Daniel has some of the best performances of all time in the James Bond universe but every other film was a dud. And I can't escape thinking that Sean Connery aged to quickly and his later Bond films undermine him. So, no, I can't pick the best Bond. Only know that Roger Moore and George Lazenby aren't it. Moore's movies were to comical and he often came off as a bezzerwizzer.
