I ride the back roads of life.

Ain't got no trouble nor strife.

My wheels take me down to the city of success.

But my ride took me down to create an awful mess.

Life has its tollbooths and collectors.

I tried to cheat, and they came after me.

And now the collectors are collecting,

And I ride the back roads of shame; so you see,

Remember all back roads are treacherous.

The main roads are the ones that are clear.

Always ride the main roads for your happiness,

And stay off the back roads, my dear.
