Ontario Gateway Casino Closed Over Cybersecurity Incident

Nov 07, 2023

Gateway casinos and entertainment locations in Ontario will remain closed until the coming weekend as we continue our work to address cybersecurity incidents and develop reopening plans at each location. Although we cannot confirm a date for reopening at this time, we continue to work with all parties involved to restore IT systems, reopen sites, and ensure employees return to work.

Our biggest concern is privacy. There is no evidence yet that the personal information of the customer or employee has been affected, but there has been a ransomware attack on the IT system. Unfortunately, cybercriminals often try to violate their personal information. We work with third-party experts 24/7 to make sure there is no impact on your personal information. We reiterate that we have notified the relevant privacy officers, law enforcement and government regulators in connection with the cyber incident.

The Casino Lamar Resort, which was booked this weekend, has been rescheduled. The Chris de Berg concert scheduled for tonight, April 21, has been postponed until Thursday, April 27. The Warrant, Quiet Riot, and Helix concerts scheduled for Saturday, April 22 have been rescheduled for October 7, 2023. As of now, there is no change to the concert scheduled after April 22.

We appreciate the continued patience of our employees, customers and government partners as we complete our work to reopen our properties in Ontario, and we will continue to provide updates to the public regarding the reopening as details are confirmed over the next few days.
