The architectural style of these buildings on this street in Limburg is the Medieval style also called "half-timber" style. Cylindrical logs were cut in half so that they could be used as posts. The shaved side would be traditionally placed on the exterior. For some, the first and second floor of these buildings were timber while the bottom was stone. They were so old that some of the buildings were literally almost going to top over!
Walking through these streets felt nostalgic and I felt as though I'd been taken back in time to thousands of years ago when life was so different.
