In Flight Transit Mode for Aerospace+H5

In Flight Transit Mode for Aerospace+H5

Feb 01, 2023

The Aerospace+H5 watchface (version 5.7.0) has a new "in flight transit" mode.  This mode displays the time for the 3rd time zone on the analog dial.  This is an advanced feature for pilots and globetrotters, used to acclimate you to the time at your flight destination.

To use this, you need to set the 3rd time zone by specifying latitude and longitude values.  A (free) API key from ipgeolocation.io is required to get the correct timezone data for the 3rd time zone.  Do this 30 minutes (or earlier) before boarding your flight while you have internet access.  When the watchface has acquired the time zone info for the 3rd time zone, the 3rd time zone display will change from --:-- to the 3rd time zone time. Then set the "Analog dial shows" setting to "3rd time zone".

Now, not only do the analog hands reflect the 3rd time zone, but also:

  • the triangle PM indicator

  • power save during sleep activation/deactivation time

  • auto lume on/off activation

  • date display

  • ISO 8601 week number & day display

Also if your watch has Connect IQ version 3.3.0 or higher then the following features also reflect the 3rd time zone:

  • sunset time display

  • sunrise time display

  • next sun event countdown display

  • sunset/sunrise markers (reflect 3rd time zone)

  • daylight hours remaining display on the outer ring

After you reach your destination and your phone syncs to the local time, you can set the "Analog dial shows" setting back to "local time".
