I love when the Bluebonnets bloom. I've planted them to adorn the entrance gate to our Homestead, but they've not yet spread into a bluebonnet carpet.
These bluebonnets are growing at my mother's home in her driveway. In the rocks. In a high-traffic area! They're scrappers, that's for sure.
So until mine grow into a purple Bluebonnet carpet, I'll enjoy mom's blooms.
In Texas since Bluebonnets are the state flower, all the medians are carpeted with Bluebonnets. They bloom only in early spring, but they're so beautiful! Oftentimes they're paired with red/orange Indian Paintbrushes.
