Do you take regular Mindfulness Breaks? ⏰

Mindfulness is anything you do that gets you to engage with the present moment in a non-judgemental, observant way 🧘‍♀️

When you notice how nice the sun feels on your face and for one second that’s all that’s on your mind - that’s mindfulness! ☀️
.
When you settle into a hug with a person you love and lose yourself in the moment - that’s mindfulness! 🤗
.
When you are jamming out to your favourite tune and forget all your trouble - that’s mindfulness! 🎶
.
Here are some ways to do take Mindfulness Breaks 💡
.
Dance Break! I dare you to try multitasking while bopping around to your fave song (it can’t be done!) 💃🕺
.
Mindful Doing! I betcha you haven’t paid close attention to brushing your teeth or typing or eating in a while. How about today? 🪥
.
Speedy Metta! Metta (Loving Kindness) meditation is a structured way to send compassionate vibes to yourself and others. Try taking a one minute break to think kindly about yourself and another person. It’s a great mood booster! 💓
.
Breath Breaks! Have much email? Me too. See if you can pause between each one and take 1-2 deep breaks. Even one deep belly breath has an immediate calming effect on our bodies. Imagine if you did that 10 or 20 times in a day! 😮‍💨

Mindful Looking! We get used to what we see around us. Pretend you are looking around your home or neighbourhood or workplace for the first time. Notice anything that you’ve been overlooking? A great way to get a new perspective! (Do NOT do while driving!) 👀

Simply Existing! The expression “We aren’t human DOINGS we are human BEINGS” is as true as it is cheesy. Consider spending a few moments simply letting yourself exist. Don’t do anything. Just continue to be alive! 🫀

Taking more frequent breaks and carving out time for mindfulness is much more accessible than you might think! 🥳
