The Importance of Deep Rest

The upcoming long weekend is a good opportunity for an always much-needed reminder about resting your brain! 🧠
.
I don't know about you but I use my brain A LOT. So much so that many of my leisure activities (reading, socializing, listening to music, etc) stimulate my brain 🤯
.
While I truly enjoy those things, I also recognize the need to rest my brain, especially when I notice more impatience, brain fog, and more effort for less output 😶‍🌫️
.
Some restful activities I enjoy are:
.
💡staring out the window and watching the world go by
.
💡laying down to rest my eyes (highly recommend doing this with a furry friend)
.
💡spending quiet time alone with myself
.
Some strategies I use for reducing my brain’s workload are:
.
💡reducing the number of decisions I need to make wherever possible
.
💡choosing monotasking over multitasking
.
💡taking breaks throughout the day (instead of waiting until the end and crashing)
.
