In Ukraine, it's already 2024.
Fifty minutes already past midnight into the new year.
With faith, hope, and bravery we enter this next period of 366 days full of expectations that this year means the beginning of a long history of justice, peace and freedom to every human being in the world.
For those who unfortunately happen to be in the middle of a war, we add the deep desire that desperation comes to an end somehow and the path of virtue takes the way. For Ukraine, it means to save its territorial integrity, its cultural independence, whatever elements that makes us unique and proud of our history, land, and place in the world.
In the name of all Ukrainians, I thank each and every supporter that firmly stood by our side in this already past 2023, many times making this distant and cold land a central element of personal concern. President Zelenskyy already said many times that without the broad support from citizens like you, we could never effectively set up our resistance.
Words are not enough to thank you for everything you have done this year. Everything you do for Ukraine is worthwhile, and you don't need to be a congressman/congresswoman to have a decisive participation. Informing yourself, sharing articles, bringing the subject to your friends and family, reading Ukrainians like me and so many others, everything is a way to make a connection with us and participate.
A special thanks also to my wonderful friends who are a little closer to me and are always caring about my safety when they know about attacks in the zones I'm generally in. You know who you are, and please know you are the prefect definition of a family to me.
2023 was a challenging year, I feel like I've lived 5 years in one. But I have a lot of reasons to be grateful, especially the fact I'm alive and have the privilege to cross another year in my life. I hope to experience many other year crossings, because I love life and I love to wake up everyday to live whatever my fate imposes on me, even if things demand the hardest of my forces and emotions.
I'm sure you also have plenty of reasons to be thankful for your 2023!
