Dear Diary,

My mom never made cakes and pastries at home. So the closest thing I had growing up as a kid was a homemade dessert was Red Bean Congee.

This type of style "tong siu" or sweet water as the Chinese call it is a special treat my mother made once or twice a month.

It satisfies the sweet tooth and quite filling.

It's one of the reasons why I was such a chubby kid 😀
