On the invitation (or through connections) of UMNO Damansara Heights I came to this event held on a Saturday.
No idea why I choose to spend my weekends attending events such as these. Never grew up from University I guess. But I guess knowledge should be pursued relentlessly. Some knowledge cannot be gleaned from textbooks, its best to hear from someone who was somebody. A Deputy Prime Minister, no less. The poorest Deputy Prime Minister some might say: not involved in the monetization of politics so much, Tun Musa.
The event by Persatuan Anak Melayu Johor was held at a hotel in Ampang.
I arrived early for the session.
Had a buffet lunch.
Took my seat. Did the bare minimum of chit chat I could with those seated next to me and then when the time came for Q and A, went to ask questions.
My questions were as follows following these 2 themes: The Angry Generation & The Age of Materialism.
What are your thoughts on the fact that we are moving towards a two party system as we have all sorts of Malays now, conservative, liberal, rich and poor?
And related, do you agree that at least idealism to end poverty united us all before this?
