An apple & a thought. Flower cafe

An apple & a thought. Flower cafe

Jan 24, 2023

Hi!

Ok. I found a perfect place. It’s so beautiful that at first, I thought:

- Oh, such a lovely flower shop.

But it’s not. It’s a patisserie with such a fantastic window view (OMG).

Not too many people inside. I don’t see them. They all are behind my back. Oops.

So today I’m going to write about the people I see in this gorgeous window.

McDonald's is nearby. People with M packets are walking here & there. M people. Let’s call them this way (sometimes I’m an M woman too).

A woman with Glovo (delivery) bag. Probably she is on her way to bring some food for M people.

Today I’m famous. People crossing nearby & looking at this flower café see me.

- Hi! I see you too. Maybe even write about you. So please, can you go slower?

A woman with a phone is standing.

- Are you waiting for anyone?

Oh. You just lit your cigarette. Ok.

A girl in such a bright coat. Interesting. I could hardly take a picture. I was so slow with my phone. But here it is. Bright Coat Girl.

The woman with a phone & cigarette is here again. So she is waiting for someone. Texting. Black trousers, light brown coat & scarf, not too tall, big black bag.

I have a guest. Air raid alert.

We were not asked to leave. It’s strange. Flower café is probably tired. So I’m not going anywhere.

Are there fewer people because of the alert? Give me a few minutes. I need to observe.

Less.

I saw two running people.

- Why do they run?

They might have some previous relations with war horrors & hurrying to the shelter. Or they are just late for the meetings (such things might happen, even here).

There are fewer M people. Mcdonald's is closed during air raid alerts.

- Am I afraid?

- I’m having a warcoffee.

A woman with a blue bag is going very fast.

A man with a long light-grey beard. Santa Claus is on his vacation. Maybe it’s a strange choice to visit the capital in war, but probably he wanted to see our bravery.

- Oh. You will not be disappointed.

The man in a red jacket is talking something to himself. Poor man. Let us hug his image.

I was asked to leave this gorgeous view & sit deep inside. Sitting near the window is dangerous because of the threat of attack.

Okok.

A few minutes later air siren all clear. But I decided to stay here. It’s cozy. Going to write nobook (the book that shouldn’t have been written). I ordered some more warcoffee. Vlad (Son) told me there’s no power at home. We’re promised to have it back in… 7 hours. So I’ll stay here for some time.

An apple & a thought is a series of short stories I write from the cafe (or place that pretends to be it). The stories are about people I see and sometimes (almost never, here you should feel my big smile) talk with.
