Kyiv coffee bookshop. Welcome to the paradise

Oct 01, 2022

Hi!

It's my second fresh blog post (nonono. I won't be counting them, I just need to get used to the fact that I'm writing a blog).

Really (believe me) appreciate that you read. And support. And tell all these cute things.

Today we're 'cooking' words about magnificent coffee bookshop. I felt in love with it. Below will show you some pictures.

So when you visit Kyiv (we will win! oh yes, we will win), please, go to Podil. It's an ancient part of the capital of the brave. On Mezhyhirska str. 13/34 you will find Book Lion shop (in Ukrainian it sounds like Knyzhkovyi Lev).

They even have some (very few-really few-upset few) books in English.

But you may have coffee, sweets & this magnificent paradise-like smell. The smell of books, coffee & magic.

People read here, talk, laugh, have coffee.

As usual I spoke with the bookshop assistant. She said that they were opened on August 8 this year. That they have another coffee bookshop in Lviv. It was opened 5 years ago. And people love it. As do I this one now.

Country where bookshops are being opened in war times is invincible. Bravo, Ukraine! Bravo, my strong girl!

I've bought 3 books. Wait a second (a few minutes actually). I will find you English versions:

  • Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler (biographical work of fiction about Zelda Fitzgerald). In Ukrainian the title is simple 'Zelda' (we don't like these ZZZs)

  • The Paris Wife by Paula McLain (historical fiction novel about love affair between two unforgettable people: Ernest Hemingway and his wife Hadley)

  • The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery (as they say it's a beautiful novel about life and about looking for the beauty in every person you meet).

I will return to the coffee bookshop again. And again. And again. Maybe I felt like a Books' Princess there. Or just a Woman who Found the Best Bookshop in Kyiv.

Thank you for reading this. You're sososo sweet.

P.S. I'm really glad that I decided to have this fresh #warcoffee blog. I'm full of the words & books & coffee & things I'd like to share.

OMG! I noticed that they have categories here. I'll try to figure out & make some.

Enjoy this post?
