#warcoffee talks about something. Twitter, cameras and puddles

Apr 04, 2023

Hi!

Ok. I'm trying to start this letter for the third time. Something with my words today.

The other day I asked the questions on Twitter:

  1. Whether should I have a Twitter backup (other social media), and which one is better? Elon Musk creates some mess on Twitter. I don't believe Twitter will be shut down (too much money and audience to lose). It might only become a dirty place.

  2. What cool camera is better to buy? I have iPhone 13Pro. The pictures are good, but I want to take long-distance, evening, small details pictures, etc. So the phone cannot do it.

I want to take pictures of puddles (a big smile)

So I read the answers, analyzed and decided on these things:

I set up an account on Spoutible. This social media is new and very similar to Twitter (veryyyyy). I don't expect it to be the next big thing, but it might be good for some backup. If something happens with Twitter, I'll be there. Still don't know what I'm going to do on Spoutible. Probably, post the same content as on Twitter (Son told me that was a bad idea). But to create different content is time-consuming. Any thoughts about this issue?

Some of you suggested I use Instagram. The reasons why not:

  • Many Ukrainian bloggers on Instagram were banned (some renewed their accounts, some didn't) because of war content. Now they are careful what they say and show. It was widely discussed on the news here.

  • You cannot publish content from Twitter to Instagram. It demands Stories (as I understand, people watch more Stories than just photos there), Stories, Stories. I have (and want) books to write.

  • Instagram is more like a marketplace. Everyone sells something. What should I sell you? The war?

  • I still believe that you cannot create quality content for different media. Of course, you may, but you should live there.

Also, I had suggestions to change buy me coffee to Patreon. Two reasons why not:

  • Patreon is still on the russian market (and don't plan to leave it)

  • At the beginning of the full-scale war, Patreon deleted the Fund 'Come back alive' page. The reason? No war content is allowed. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars were lost.

Ok. We probably need a picture. Sorry, today I have only puddles with small worlds in them.

Ok. What about the camera? I decided to study at first. Found not bad (maybe) online courses. And after that, it will be easier to determine if I need a camera and which one will be better for my needs. If you can suggest some photography courses, I will be very grateful.

So pictures from iPhone, hi 😎

Please, know that I read your answers and appreciate you taking the time to reply. Sometimes I might not agree (as I hope you do with me too). Sometimes you give me valuable insights.

Thank you!

And yes, I'm not going to leave Twitter. We have our warcoffee family there.

A big-big hug to you!
