How To Create Your Own Inspirational Quotes

Apr 11, 2022

Yesterday I wished to share an inspirational quote in a facebook group. But with a twist. I wanted to step out and own the quote.

The original quote I found was: “Not all storms come to destroy your life, Some come to clear your path”  (no author)

To make it my own I needed to change words. So I looked up synonyms for different words in the quote. (A synonym is a word or phrase with a meaning that is the same as or very similar to the first word.)

My time limit for the project was 10 minutes. My plan: grab, create and see how it comes out.

“Storms” became outbreaks. Decided to change “life” to day. I left path as path. But switched “clear” to simplify. (nice of google to have these synonyms right at my finger tips)

(Notice how I am purposely setting in motion a fun part of watching life.)

Then on to Pixabay.com to get a picture reflecting “outbreaks”. There were a lot of people raging at other people. I decided to go with a more humorous attempt and downloaded a smiley #g9f59bed44_1280.

On to Canva.com to create a quick facebook post.

Now to make sure I take responsibility for what I am creating. The little “dob of whipped cream” on top of the creation. I put my name as author.

Why would I do this? There wasn’t an author on the first quote. Yes, but I want to see if this quote works! I wish to see what comes back to me by putting this out in front of people.

How do I react? Am I embarrassed? Proud? Afraid to watch face expressions as they read it?

These are the “outbreaks” which disrupt my day. Plus as the day unfolded, there were other outbreaks. 😊

Now – to put the quote to the test. Would any of them “simplify” my path? This requires some reflection. This morning I took two “outbreaks” of the previous day. (1) Examined them as to my reactions.

(2) Examined the other people’s actions and what was unfolding in their lives.

(3) Return to my life to see if what is unfolding in their lives is unfolding in mine.

(4) Ask myself: “Is this the result I wish to have?”

NO!!! Was my answer. I quickly revised my plans for the day. Simplifying as I saw their actions and results. (So much easier to watch someone else’s life. Lol.) Taking those corrections and applying them to my life.

Lastly, saying thank you to each person involved, for helping me simplify my life.

Moving a mountain just got simplified!
