DIY Foot Relaxing Foot Soak

Our feet carry so many toxins and work so hard to support us daily. A regular foot soak helps to detox our body, relieve our sore tired feet and has many health benefits.

At home I have an Infared Foot Spa which is meant to increase blood flow to the different parts of the body making it possible for oxygen and nutrients to reach the cells, so that they function properly and more effectively. A regular foot spa, stimulates the regeneration and repair of injured tissues, reducing pain and inflammation.

I find that a regular foot soak (depending on what oils I use) helps me relax, detox my body & relieve pain I hold in my feet.

Oils that are great for detoxing is: Lemon, Grapefruit, Celery Seed, Cilantro, Smart & Sassy & Zendocrine Blends. I like to add lemongrass & marjoram for tired sore feet.

For relaxation I like to use Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Geranium & Roman Chamomile which helps me sleep.

Great products to use in a foot spa are:

  • Epsom Salts – beneficial for inflammation, reducing pain, foot odour & flushes out toxins and heavy metals.

  • Pink Himalyan Salt – helps with relaxation, delivers magnesium, stops cramping, helps treat skin conditions, anti inflammatory & retains moisture in the skin.

  • Sodium Bicarbonate – soothes inflamed skin, irritations and itching, removes dead skin from the feet, prevents goat and kidney stones by lowering uric acid in the blood and softens the skin.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar – it is antimicrobial, and helps kill bacteria and fungi which cause foot odour. It helps detox your body and is a mild exfoliator.

  • Essential oils – benefits of these beautiful plant medicines vary depending on what oil you are using. Do some research on different oils, or intuitively select which oils you feel your body needs.
