Making Manuna Mouse in 3D - part 1

Making Manuna Mouse in 3D - part 1

May 28, 2023

It took me more than a year to prepare Smuzhka Raccoon for 3D printing, but it took much faster to remake my Manuna Mouse mold in 3D.
I still have to do some joints, but the most sculpting job is done already.

I used initial schema that I drew back in 2012 as a reference. Front:

Side:

Didn't make many screenshots during sculpting. Here is the head with a separate ear objects.

Camera in Blender shows a somewhat distorted, fisheye-like picture, with a big nose and small everything else.

But when you snap to the axis, it shows real dimensions without taking perspective into account.
So I will see the real object only after printing.

That's how I make limbs - out of a cylinder, adding several loop cuts, resizing and modifying them.

Then I do Remesh and sculpt the limbs. You can see that the leg already has some decent shapes, and the arm is still a cylinder.

Remeshing the arm. Working on the arm.

Making the hand out of several UV spheres. Made a single finger, then copy/pasted it and modified each one by rotating, scaling and sculpting.

Making the foot the same way.

The whole mouse.

I made the tail along Z axis, as it's simpler to keep the measurements right, and only a copy of the joint closest to the butt is aligned with the body.

To be continued...
