Whathotel.io started as a passion project to meet my own needs to see all 38 Marriott brands on one single (+fast) map experience. I've been a Bonvoy +SPG member for over 10 years. I was viewing hotels in Dubai one day on Marriott.com and it wasn't showing me all the hotels in the area. Sharjah and Abu Dhabi are just a few km away and yet you can only search by City. It's also painfully slow and limited to displaying 40 hotels at once. I also wanted to stay at "New" hotels, see where I would get free brakfast and well.... the list of features kept growing and so I started coding this website from August 2025 whilst on holiday in the Sheraton, Koh Samui.
