Watching,
So small
And defenseless
All I own
Blow away
Helpless
Where do I go
When my home
Has been splintered
By the wind?
And Hope’s eyes
Have been poked out
Blind
Everything crushed
Swept to dust
Nothing left,
But ~
To rebuild
From the ground up
With Love,
Knowing
As it was in the beginning,
Is now and ever shall be
Unending;
But still,
In these times
Of distress
I need you
To raise me up
To comfort
All that darkens
In this depression
That disheartens
To be that one
Tiny spark of light
In the torrential rain
And raging tempest
A glimmer of Hope
For a despondent soul
That ignites
A fire
And clears
My despondency
And despair
To come to see
I am still,
Still,
Extremely blessed
Just to be alive
In this one breath
As I watch,
So small
And defenseless
Every picture of you
Blow away
In the winds of change
Relentless
Gone
As if they were never
Memories here at all
Watching,
Powerless
Amidst the grip
Of this lowest of low
Within my soul
Drift afloat
From all its known
As home
Watching,
So defenseless
And small
Yet, somewhere
Deep within
I know,
I know,
Flowers may only grow
Where tears fall…
