Stories and news from Lane County's Oregon Coast

West of the Tunnel tells the stories of people in our community along Lane County's coast. My name is Will Yurman, and I am a long-time journalist who moved to Florence in 2022.

West of the Tunnel is a place for news and stories about our community and the people who live here. Dr. John Bachmann closes his animal hospital, Mapleton High School seniors talk about their hopes for the future, Siuslaw School Board candidates share their visions for the schools, and more.

Fact-based, informative, and I hope interesting stories, photos and videos about where we live.
